A warm welcome to our website. We are a well established kitesurfing organisation, based in El Gouna, whose aim is to ensure that you have a fabulous kitesurfing holiday no matter what level you are.

We are the only kitestation in El Gouna located within the grounds of a five star hotel, The Moevenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna. Here at Kitepeople there's no need for taxis or buses to the kite beach, no carrying equipment back and forth - it's just kitesurfing as it should be. From ground floor rooms in Cluster 1 you can walk straight out onto the kite beach, get your kite gear out of a locker, set-up and go. And the location is sweet - whether you want large shallow water lagoons, deep water, off-shore reefs or remote island boat trips we've got it - perfect for beginners, intermediate or experienced riders. Check out the location page for more information.

22nd December, 2008 - Season's Greetings ...

Season's Greetings to one and all from the Kitepeople Team.

3rd December, 2008 - The Land Below The Waves ...

Arriving at Oban the first thing you see, the Clansman ferry destination Tiree
This mighty vessel my escape from the rat race, cuts through black waters at a leisurely pace
Nothing behind us but a trail of white foam, and memories of loved ones we left at home
Oban gets smaller as it fades from our sight, in the wind and the cloud and the rain
On the port side majestic and proud, stands the family home of McLean
Castle Duart rises up from the shore, a fortress from days long ago
As if to guard the Sound of Mull, distinguishing friend from foe
Flanked by a lighthouse on the opposite shore, painted in brilliant white
Linsmore shines over The Sound, guiding the ships throughout the night
Passed Tobermory we are clear of The Sound and sailing on the high sea
A stop at Coll and we are on our way to the beautiful isle of Tiree
The captain announces arrival at Coll as passengers disembark
With new arrivals two by two, reminiscent of Noah’s ark
The car deck closed and the mooring ropes in, the Clansman is out once more
The next thing we see is a house painted pink that guides us into the shore
We land at Scarnish the sun splits the skies, and the sea turns to azure blue
Full of excitement we get off the boat, and head strait for the Lean To
With a warm welcome and an open fire we drank a few golden nips
We looked out the window across at the bay and gazed at all the old ships
This beautiful island like a picture post card never fails to amaze
This is the island of Tiree
The land below the waves

The above poem, courtesy of Martin Sweeny, (check out his blogspot) is by way of a greeting to a young lady from that part of the world, Helen Thompson, who is staying in El Gouna for a while and training at Kitepeople.

Helen is the 2008 BKSA Womens Champion and a Naish Pro Rider.

Now you may have noticed the small flags at the top left - well now some of them do something - The UK and German flags now change the language accordingly - Click and try (Yes, we know there is still a bit more to do on the German translation, we're working on it - honest). 2nd May, 2008 - Our girls at KPWT - Update

Day 1, Carina came joint 5th in the women’s freestyle. Day 2, Celine came joint 5th in the women’s wave event. Day 3 was race day. Conditions were pretty appalling and even a number of the guys abandoned the course. Results are still awaited.

In the afternoon the “best trick” competition was eventually held when conditions improved. Both girls were exhausted after the race event but found enough energy to impress the judges and the crowd. With only 2 minutes to land as many tricks as possible, they managed to get in 3 moves each. In the women’s event, they beat everyone…. Celine took 1st place with a “shifty” S bend and Carina took 2nd with a railey to blind. The judges really struggled to decide between them. RESPECT! Day 4, No wind so some much deserved R & R. Click the photo above to visit a gallery.

This is Gerbo from Belgium - He's 8 years old and has been into kites since he was four. He came to practise the water start - With a 12m kite and a board that seemed bigger than him he planed in one direction, then the other and then started doing turns - Awesome!

Hans, aka 'The Flying Dutchman', aka 'Shakira' joins the Kitepeople team as an instructor. He is 17, comes from near Eindhoven in the south of Holland, and speaks Dutch, English, German and some Flemish. Previously Hans played in Premiere league basketball in The Netherlands for The Giants.
